Flavor: Complex, full-bodied, bright citrus like acidity, notes of red fruit met with a remarkably smooth and creamy texture.
About the CollaBARation™: Single origin chocolate meets single origin coffee in a carefully sourced and meticulously hand crafted culinary experience. The coffee origin changes with Intelligentsia's in-season sourcing. Currently, this bar features Intelligentsia’s directly sourced Anjilanaka Organic Bolivia coffee. Like us, Intelligentsia works directly with their producers to develop exceptional coffee, and invests continuously into realizing that quality in every cup.
About the cocoa region: Tenende is situated in southwest Tanzania near Lake Malawi. This origin is a part of a Chocolate University Project. Chocolate University is a neighborhood outreach program of Askinosie Chocolate in which we inspire students about entrepreneurship, social business and a world beyond their own. Each year, we select a handful of high school students to partake in this collaborative learning experience and travel with Shawn Askinosie to Tanzania. Our first year, we funded a deep water well toprovide clean water to the 2,000 villagers of Tenende. We specifically sought a woman led cocoa farmers group and Mama Kyeja left an indelible impression on us all. This bar markets the first time a chocolate maker has traded directly with a Tanzania cocoa farmer group.
